Day.1.Spiritual Insight on Corona Virus (Covid – 19)

Introduction

During the end of 2019 until this April 2020, the whole world is in turmoil because of the outbreak of (Covid – 19) caused by Corona Virus which started at Wuhan, China. According to WHO the infected cases worldwide has reached to at least 2 Million cases, whereby almost 133,572 died and about 511,019 recovered to date i.e.15^th April 2020. It has been a great challenge of our time as the virus has led to devastating side effect on all spheres of lives across the globe. There are no spiritual activities or gatherings, political affairs affected, global economy has suffered a lot and entertainment sector has been hit all over the world. This virus has led to the collapse of some of health systems in the world. It had spread like a wild fire in a spar of moment all over the world. Today marks one month since the first case of patient with Covid – 19 was reported in our Country i.e Tanzania thus on 16^th March 2020, today we are speaking of 88 cases, 4 deaths and 4 recovered as per 15^th April 2020 report. As we can all see no country or territory is immune from this great disaster.

There has been a calling all over the world especially from WHO on how people can take precautions so that to limit the spread of the virus. We hear about scientists who are working tireless to find SOLUTION for the survival of humankind. There is a call from most religious leaders all over the country and world at large for every person to offer prayer and petition to our God so as to spare all of us from this tragedy.

As far as my profession I am not a scientist or health worker or any way related to heath system, therefore I still urge my fellow global citizens to take heed on the instructions offered by reliable sources on how best we can protect ourselves from being contaminated and protect our loved ones and general public at large. It is my believe all the required persons in health system are doing their best to make sure this virus is eradicated as soon as possible and offer best ways to curtail its spread.

Nevertheless, as a normal global citizen and believer in Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, I feel obliged to contribute to my fellow men and women on my ideas as far as Spiritual Perspective on this pandemic so as to set us right spiritually to offer the kind of prayer and petitions to the Creator of this Universe.

I would like to note in the beginning the goals of these articles;

• To awaken the Church of Jesus Christ globally for special prayers so that our God can intervene and help the human race out of this pandemic
• To continue observing the instructions offered by relevant authorities on how to mitigate the spread of the virus and protect ourselves
• To continue give hope to fellow men and women across the globe, that this too shall pass and we will see a new beginning for all of us.

All the articles on the Spiritual Insight on Corona Virus will base on the Holy Scriptures from the Bible as manifested by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I urge you dear brother and sister and fellow child of God, now it is the time to seek God with our whole spirit, soul and body; read the scriptures for yourself, examine in the light of Holy Spirit so that we can join our hands and pray to the Lord to deliver all of us.

As you can remember in previous month i.e. 23^rd March 2020, most of the countries which profess Christianity set this day as national prayer, whereas most of churches quoted the scriptures from 2. Chr.7:13 -1 4. I would like to quote the verses hereunder as well;

‘If I shut up heavens so that no rain falls, or if I command locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence and plague (deadly disease, epidemics) among My people, and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land’ 2. Chr.7:13-14

These are the words from the Bible most of the people are quoting and urge themselves to pray and repent before our Heavenly Father. Our spiritual leaders and political leaders in our beloved country Tanzania still insist on offering prayers wherever we are and that is what we do on top of observing the restrictions and instructions offered by the Ministry of Health.

Therefore, in these articles of Spiritual Insight we will ask God to give us grace so that we can understand scriptures and put on necessary actions in order to realise the healing offered in the scripture as what our forefathers in faith did.

Dear brother and sister, I sincerely invite you to join all the saints in the globe in this journey of seeking God who is Creator of everything of what we see and don’t see, the King of Universe, who is the beginning and the end, who knows our destiny to see His Mighty power in this hour of need.

I wish to encourage you, this is not a time to lose heart as if we don’t have God, but it is a time to rise our FAITH to a new level that we have never experience before, it is a time to come closer to our Heavenly Father and see the side of His compassion and grace we have never experience in our lifetime. We must stand firm and mark our contribution in this time, so that the following generation would remember us the ones who stand in the year 2020 when there was no hope for the globe, still the Church, Body of Christ all over the world stood and the people got saved. That person who has been called for this purpose is YOU and ME.

Welcome all brothers and sisters, keep on praying for one another so that we can be a reason for our families, friends, nations and the whole world to be saved. The Holy Spirit will guide us by His grace and anointing so that we can perform our duty for the Glory of God in Jesus Christ.

Today’s prayer

Our Heavenly Father, the Creator of heavens and earth, King of Universe the One who knows our seasons and time ordained on this planet earth, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your beloved Son. We ask You to forgive our sin and unbelief, when the trouble came in our way, we relied on human wisdom and not Your living Word. We ask You to help us with humble heart so that we can draw near Your Holy Presence to petition for our sins and of the whole world so that we can experience Your grace. I, (mention your name) ask You God to help me to be among the members of Your Body so that I can contribute to find solution before Your presence for all of us  to become a blessing to our families, friends, tribes and nations across the world for Your glory and Your Son’s Holy name Jesus Christ. Amen
